The Duo Vulpin pattern is a pointed nose foam head pattern with two variations for a head cover. Â In fleece, the pointed nose in the first variation can read as a human nose. Â In the 2nd and 3rd variations, the stripe front face can be used to create animal characters. Â It’s compatible with the torsos in the Shape Library series here on Live Action Puppets. Â The pig puppet sample is made with the Duo Vulpin pattern with some modifications. Â I chopped off the tip of the nose in the foam understructure, and add a hand carved pig nose foam shape. Â I then draped the foam head with the included head cover pattern cut from an old t-shirt. Â I used the knit t-shirt piece to drape the foam head to determine where to remove material in the pattern to surround the added nose. Â The nose tip was then draped in t-shirt knit to draft a new nose pattern to connect to the modified head cover pattern. Â While this variation is NOT included with your pattern, it illustrates how a modification can create a new character out of a simple pattern. To see how I made the modification, read my blog post here: https://www.lapuppets.com/youll-be-charmed-by-phil-vischers-book-sidney-and-norman/?preview_id=3251&preview_nonce=803cd353b1&preview=true&_thumbnail_id=3252
